Clifton High School provides a home for lots of wildlife… and at a secret location on the grounds a pair of blue tits live, and are preparing their nests for the arrival of their chicks. Our Eco Club have set up a camera to watch their progress, which you can also follow here; http://www.naturalsparks.org/
Every hour they spend about 30 seconds adding material, you can see an example of this on a recording from the nest last week; here.
During the Easter holidays the female will lay one egg per day at around 6.00am, until her clutch is complete; usually around 8–10 eggs. When their penultimate eggs are laid the blue tits will then incubate them for 13–15 days. By the start of the Summer Term, the chicks would have hatched and by the May half term they will be flying around the School!
