Clifton High School pupils continued their Flying Start success at the Regional Finals held in the Brabazon Hangar, next to Filton Airfield last week. The competition enables pupils to develop their knowledge of aero-engineering and the physics of flight, with this round involving a quiz, presentation and a glider fly off. Despite fierce competition from twenty other teams, the Clifton High groups did exceptionally well, being awarded second, third and fourth place. Clifton High’s ‘Pring-Mageddon’ team scored the longest flight of the morning of over 20 metres and, together with the ‘Flying Hippes’ team, will take part in the National Finals at the Fleet Air Arm Museum in Yeovilton on 22nd March. Congratulations to Arthur, Mungo and Aidan, Oliver L, Oliver D, Cameron and James for their hard work and putting their engineering knowledge into practice, as well as Dr Camacho for organising and supporting the School’s participation in the event.
