National Poetry Day

National Poetry Day was celebrated earlier this month, and Clifton High marked the occasion with activities co-ordinated through the School Library.

More than 50 poems were put on display across the School for people to read and enjoy, poems were integrated into lessons across all age groups and subjects, and the Book Worms (a reading club for Years 1 and 2) wrote their own original poems which were imaginative and very amusing.

Senior School staff nominated their most-loved poems to be put on display in the Senior Library, pupils then voted for their favourite; to which there was a clear winner the ‘Jabberwocky’, congratulations to Ms Alpe, whose choice it was.

Everyone enjoyed having the chance to stop and read, create and hear some great verses.
