Pupils put their hearts into lifesaving training

Friday 16th October was European Restart a Heart Day. It is a frightening statistic that 30,000 cardiac arrests happen out of hospital each year. As part of its response to this, The British Heart Foundation launched its Mission: CPR initiative, encouraging pupils at over 200 schools in Britain – including CHS – to attend CPR training.

Almost 300 Clifton High pupils from Years 7 to 13 attended the training, which was supervised by Clifton High staff. Using resuscitation manikins and following a video-led course from the British Heart Foundation, pupils learnt valuable and potentially life-saving CPR skills.
