Trips and visits enhance the curriculum and provide our children with exciting and enriching opportunities to learn outside the classroom. Children in Reception to Year 2 take regular visits to the local area and also further afield which are included in the fees.
Clifton Village is a wonderful resource and the children benefit enormously from the expertise within the community. Local dentists, doctors, builders, café owners, estate agents, post office workers, chefs, travel agents and hairdressers have visited us or allowed us to visit them.
As an historic city, Bristol itself offers the opportunity for the children to enjoy trips to eminent buildings, museums and landmarks such as Brunel’s SS Great Britain, At-Bristol, and the Tyntesfield estate. We are also located very close to Bristol Zoo and the children often walk there to take part in fascinating workshops or listen to talks offered by their education team.
Nursery and Reception children partake in forest school activities weekly, and all children in Years 1 and 2 are given the opportunity to take part in Forest School on two occasions each term. Forest School is a short bus drive away and the boys and girls enjoy a fun morning or afternoon learning, playing and cooking outdoors.
Fitting in with topic work we also arrange trips for the children a little further afield. Weston-super-Mare is a popular destination which children visit when studying 'the seaside', they have also visited St Fagan’s National History Museum near Cardiff.
