Rosie in Year 13 sings for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex

Rosie in Year 13 is no stranger to the spotlight, having starred in many Clifton High productions over the years, but last week, she gave the performance of a life time …  she was selected to sing for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex!

As part of the Royal Couple’s official visit to Bristol, they stopped off at the Bristol Old Vic where they unveiled a plaque to mark the renovation of the historic theatre.  They also toured a Sound Exhibition and watched some special performances from local, young performers; Rosie, who is a member of the Young Vic Company, sang a solo when the Company performed a medley of numbers from their recent production of Hercules.

It was met with rapturous applause and a thumbs up from the Duchess of Sussex who said she thought it was “unbelievable”.

For Rosie, who is hoping to attend Drama school and pursue a career in this field after Clifton High, it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

She said “it was an incredible honour and meant a lot to us as a cast. With arts funding being cut, it was great to have such influential figures highlight this area and its importance in helping theatre makers of tomorrow”.

Well done Rosie!
