Science Café and Scholars' Forum presented by Dr Cass Hall

An interesting and thought-provoking Scholars’ Forum, ‘Alien worlds: understanding planets around other stars’, was presented by Dr Cass Hall on Thursday 12th October as part of our Marquee Week celebrations.

Dr Hall is a postdoctoral Research Associate in Theoretical Astrophysics at the University of Leicester and she spoke to Year 10 pupils and scholars about her research into exoplanets and the search for alien life.

Dr Hall described the techniques she used in her own research and shared cutting-edge results with Clifton High School pupils showing the birth of a new solar system. Pupils were highly engaged with the material, asking questions about light speed travel and the likelihood of other planets being habitable. Thank you to Dr Hall for such an intriguing talk.
